Performance information
Jacob Kohler is a talented pianist who won more than 10 classical piano competitions, including the Arizona Yamaha Piano Competition, before entering high school, and won the TV show "Piano King Championship" twice. He attracted attention as a virtuoso pianist and became a hot topic.
Currently, he has 630,000 subscribers on YouTube, and his videos have been played over 100 million times, making him increasingly well-known. He also produces and releases CDs for popular YouTube pianists such as Yomii, Hibikipiano, Miyaken, and Tomoko Asaka.
In this concert, we will have a section on the atomic bomb piano, where we will perform children's songs and folk songs that were sung at the time. The atomic bomb piano that will be used is one of the pianos that was damaged by the blast, heat rays, radiation, etc. within about 3 km of the hypocenter of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. We will perform a number of famous songs with the hope of peace, without forgetting this sad history.
We will also be using modern pianos to present elegant and romantic performances of music that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, including film soundtracks, jazz classics, classical music, and Western music.
