Aprico Art Gallery "Portrait: Beyond the Gaze"

The third period will focus on "figure paintings." Since ancient times, many artists have created "figure paintings," such as portraits that depict the personality, emotions, and social status of a particular person. This exhibition will feature portraits that depict people that artists encounter in their daily lives. On display will be works such as Fumio Ninomiya's "Woman in Snow Country" (1996), which depicts a melancholic woman, and Keimei Anzai's "Pillow" (1939), which depicts a child lying on the edge of the painting.
