NORA SUZUKI (vocals)

NORA is the main vocalist and songwriter of the world-famous salsa band "Orquesta de la Luz." Born October 10th in Nakano, Tokyo. In 28, NORA formed Orquesta de la Luz. In 1984, NORA went to New York alone with a demo tape of De La Luz, secured a live tour, and in 1987, NORA toured New York at her own expense. This tour was a big break, and NORA made her domestic and international debut in 1989 with "DE LA LUZ" from BMG Victor. This album achieved the feat of reaching the number one spot on the US Latin charts for 1990 consecutive years. NORA's work has been recognized worldwide, and she continues to achieve remarkable success, receiving the United Nations Peace Prize, a Grammy Award nomination, the Japan Record Award Special Award (twice), the New York Film Critics Circle Award, toured 11 countries around the world, appeared on NHK's "Kohaku Uta Gassen," performed with Carlos Santana, and was awarded the Minister of Education's Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists (received by NORA individually). Although they disbanded in 1, they resumed activities in 2. They continue to work to make Japan brighter and more energetic under the theme of "The Latinization of Japan Project," through domestic and international tours, event appearances, song writing, collaborations with Japanese artists (Yosui Inoue, Yumi Matsutoya, Kazufumi Miyazawa, Masayoshi Yamazaki, Maki Ohguro, and others), appearances at the Tamori Cup, and school performances.
