Profile

Kanako Iwatani (soprano)

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Hamamatsu Gakugei High School, Department of Music, Faculty of Music, Department of Vocal Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed the Master's Program in Opera at the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed the Master's Class at the 66th Nikikai Opera Training Institute Master's Class, receiving the Excellence Award upon completion. 35nd place in the 2th Shizuoka Prefecture Student Music Competition. Selected for the Tokyo Tournament of the 67th All-Japan Student Music Competition, High School Student Division. Selected for the Tokyo Tournament of the 71st All-Japan Student Music Competition, University Student Division. Selected for the 39th Soleil Vocal Competition. Made her opera debut as Maid I in the 67th Geidai Opera Regular Performance "Die Zauberflöte". She was well received for her short-term role as substitute for Seirei Kyomizu in the opera "Midday Nocturne" composed by Toriyama Taeko at the 8th Hamamatsu Citizens Opera Pre-Event. In addition, she was selected as an understudy for the role of Violetta in the Tokyo Nikikai 70th anniversary performance of "La Traviata" and will appear as Ida in the Ota Ward Aprico Opera "The Bat" in 2024. She has studied under Rika Yanagisawa, the late Keiko Hibi, and Noriko Sasaki. She is a member of the Nikikai.

Ryohei Sobe (tenor)

Born in Iwate Prefecture. Graduated from Ichinoseki Daiichi High School, Tokyo University of the Arts, Vocal Music Department, Tokyo University of the Arts, and completed the Music Education Major at Tokyo Gakugei University Graduate School of Education. After that, he studied German lied and Scandinavian songs as a research student at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Music. He won first place in the vocal music division of the 63rd All Japan Student Music Competition Tokyo Tournament. In opera, he has performed Nemorino in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, and Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata. In religious music, he has performed tenor solo in Beethoven's Symphony No. 1, Bach's Mass in B minor, Magnificat, and Handel's Messiah. In 2018, he began performing song cycles, performing R. Schumann's Die Poet's Love, Schubert's Der Schöne Millennieu, and Beethoven's To the Distant Love. She has studied vocal music under the late Akira Takahashi, Taro Ichihara, Eiko Suga, and Kazuhiko Yokoyama. She is a member of the Vocal Consort Tokyo and the Consortious. She is also a part-time lecturer at Tokyo Gakugei University.

Seika Kison (piano)

After majoring in piano in the Department of Instrumental Music at Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed a master's degree at the same graduate school. Upon her completion, she received the Geidai Clavier Award. She studied in Germany and France and completed the soloist course at the Berlin University of the Arts and the concertist course at the Paris Schola Cantorum Conservatory with unanimous honors. She has studied piano with Chie Kiuchi, Jun Kawachi, Setsuko Ichikawa, Megumi Ito, Philippe Entremont, and Björn Lehmann, and song performance with Eric Schneider, Axel Bauni, and Mitsuko Shirai. She is currently a part-time lecturer in the Department of Vocal Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts.
