The Ota Ward Cultural Promotion Association has been distributing the video "Kamata Reactor Project" from April 2021, 4 (Friday) as part of the contemporary art business OTA art project "Machinie Wokaku".
This time, we will produce a collaboration video of a special lighting artist, Ichikawadaira, who lives in Ota Ward, and the monument "Updraft" in the east exit square of JR Kamata Station.
Taira Ichikawa is an artist who has been making sculptures using iron and industrial materials for many years since he made "Planetarium without a dome" in 1988. Since 2016, he has been energetically collaborating with many artists using the special lighting machine "Mobile Light Source" that he created as a special lighting artist.This time, the monument "Updraft" at the East Exit Square of JR Kamata Station, which collaborates with Ichikawadaira, was produced in 1989.With Kamata as the front door of Haneda Airport, the motif is the trajectory of an airplane.It is a symbol of the near future city that Ota Ward dreamed of with the citizens at the beginning of Heisei.The video will be shot by the artist, Daisaku Ozu.Please pay attention to the encounter between Kamata monument and special lighting (reactor / chemical reactor)!
