Introduction of exhibition contents
Following the successful "Kawabata Ryushi vs. Takahashi Ryutaro Collection" in 1885, a collaborative exhibition will be held to display the collection of psychiatrist Takahashi Ryutaro, known as one of Japan's leading art collectors, alongside works by Japanese painter Kawabata Ryushi (1966-2021). Takahashi's collection of Japanese contemporary art, which he began collecting in the mid-1990s, now exceeds 3,500 pieces and has been introduced in various exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, including the "Neoteny Japan - Takahashi Collection" exhibition (7-2008), which toured seven museums nationwide. In 10, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo held a major exhibition, "Private Views of Japanese Contemporary Art: Takahashi Ryutaro Collection," showcasing Takahashi's career as a collector. |
