I thought that I had to become a person who suits this city in my childhood.

I have heard that you have lived in Ota Ward since you were a child.

"Until the second grade of elementary school, it is Ebara-Nakanobu in Shinagawa. Although it is close to the wash foot pond, the environment is completely different. Nakanobu has an arcade shopping street and has a fair day. The atmosphere of the downtown remains. Washokuike is a residential area. I transferred from Shinagawa Ward Nobuyama Elementary School to Ota Ward Akamatsu Elementary School, but the level was so high that I couldn't keep up with my studies. At that time, I entered Akamatsu Elementary School. Many people came to the school because they wanted to cross the border. At Nobuyama Elementary School, I was active and playing as well as a boy, but I felt like a poor student or a dropout. That's why I was born in a town where I rented soy sauce next door, looked at my house because I was away tomorrow, and if I had no parents, I would go out and wait for someone else. My classmate said, "Where did you come from?" I had never heard such words, so I thought I had to become a person who would suit this city in my childhood (laughs). "

Can you talk about Senzokuike Park?

"I used to ride the boat here when I was little. Still, it's cherry blossoms. At that time, when the cherry blossoms in Sakurayama were in full bloom, everyone laid out a sheet to see the cherry blossoms. There were a lot of them. I cut a lot because it was dangerous because there were many old cherry blossoms. Still, the cherry blossoms are still amazing. At that time, I was forced to lay a sheet and take a place from the morning. My mother danced folk songs. I was doing this, so when I got excited, I danced in a circle with my friends. I remember being a little embarrassed (laughs). Now it's forbidden to take a place and I can't open the seat. A certain Sakura Square is still laid out with sheets and done like a picnic, but in the past Sakurayama was more amazing.
At the time of the summer festival, there were stalls from Yawata-sama to the square with the clock, and there was also a spectacle hut.Although the scale has been reduced, the summer festival is still fun.The older brothers and sisters at the food stalls say "Takahashi-san" because the same people come every year. "

It's hard to find a place where such wonderful nature remains in such a city center.

It seems that the wash foot pond has become a more familiar place now than when I was a child.

"I come for a dog walk every day.Dog friendInutomoIs full.I know the name of the dog, but some owners don't know the name (laughs).Every morning, everyone gathers to say "Good morning". "

You have lived in Senzokuike for a long time, but have you ever considered moving?

"Actually, I lived in a single-family house for a long time, so there was a time when I longed for an apartment. I was saying,'I like the apartment, I think I'm going to move.' So, "Yes, I understand" (laughs). There aren't many places in the city where such wonderful nature remains. The size is just right. Washokuike Park It's nice because you can walk around. It's a place where locals can relax and enjoy themselves. But when you see cherry blossoms, a lot of people come from various places. It's amazing "(laughs)."

When it comes to Ota Ward, I have a lot of feelings about it.

I have been a PR special envoy for tourism in Ota Ward since 2019. Please tell us about the background of your appointment.

"I appeared in the drama of Katsu Kaishu's father, Katsu Kokichi, called NHK's BS historical drama" Kokichi's Wife. " Since I was a child, I pass in front of Katsu Kaishu's grave every day.edgeYukariI live in a place where there is.After hearing about the drama appearance, I participated in a talk event at Aprico for the opening of the Katsu Kaishu Memorial Museum. We talked about Katsu Kaishu, as well as Senzokuike and Ota Ward. That was the trigger. "

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at the time of opening is also done.

"That's right. That building (formerly Seimei Bunko) wasn't used for a long time, so I went inside for the first time at the Katsu Kaishu Memorial Museum. The architecture itself is very beautiful. It's a very fun place to understand. The sidewalk became beautiful when the museum opened. It's very easy to reach from Senzokuike Station (laughs). "

How was it to be a PR special envoy for tourism in Ota Ward?

"I realized that Ota Ward is so big that I don't know much about other cities. I've always wondered why the mascot" Hanepyon "has a tub, but the mayor's When I talked to Mr. Matsubara, it seems that Ota Ward has the most hot springs in Tokyo, and there were many things I didn't know about, such as "Oh, that's right" (laughs). "

From July, we will be narrating "ART bee HIVE TV".

"I haven't had much experience with narration, but recently I narrated an architectural mystery-solving program called" Sukoburu Agaru Building. "It's so much fun and so difficult. I'm not confident in my tongue. (Laughs) But I'm very attracted to expressing with just my voice. I haven't done much before, so this work is even more exciting.
When I go to various locations on TV, a local old man talks to the staff, "Hey," and I understand that feeling well. When it comes to Ota Ward, it says, "There are many other good things, so listen more." I think, "Not only there, but also this one."When it comes to Ota Ward, I really feel like it (laughs). "

I have lived for a long time, but I still feel like a newcomer.

Please tell us about your future activities.

"The stage" Harry Potter and the Cursed Child "will begin. I will be the principal of McGonagall. The ACT Theater in Akasaka will be completely rebuilt to Harry Potter specifications. All made in England with British staff and direction. The performance is all as it is. There is a preview performance for about a month, and the actual performance is from July 1. Harry Potter's performance itself is indefinite, so I will do it until I die. I will do it as long as I have a life. I want to (laughs). "

Finally, do you have a message for the residents of Ota Ward?

"Ota Ward has a factory with wonderful technology like the drama" Downtown Rocket ", a place with an environment full of nature like a wash foot pond, and Haneda Airport open to the world. There is also a place like downtown. For example, there is an elegant place like a wash foot pond. It is a wonderful district full of various charms. I have lived for many years, but many people have lived for a longer time, and I still feel like a newcomer. It's a fascinating city where you've always loved and lived. "

I'm interested in the way there is something in space
"Doctor of Medicine / Gallery Kokon Owner, Haruki Sato"

Haruki Sato, who runs an internal medicine and psychosomatic medicine clinic in Ota-ku, is a collector of contemporary art and antique art.He runs the "Gallery Kokon" which is attached to the clinic. It is a unique gallery that displays contemporary art, Buddhist art and old ceramics side by side in the space from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor.

If you look at the same artist's solo exhibition a couple of times, you will understand what kind of artist you are.

Please tell us about your encounter with art.

"When I got married (1977), my wife brought a poster of Bernard Buffet *'s blue clown. When I put it in the living room and looked at it every day, the sharpness of the line of the buffet was very impressive and I was interested. After that, I went to the Buffet Museum in Surugadaira, Shizuoka many times with my family, so I think I was addicted to art.'

What made you start collecting?

"I bought a copperplate print by a Japanese artist while I was wondering if I could buy a print of a buffet after a few months. In 1979, I bought it because it was someone else's work. It wasn't something like that, but the design was interesting. "

What was the reason for continuing the collection?

"In the 1980s, in my thirties, I went to the Ginza gallery almost every week. At that time,Lee UfanLi Woo Fan* SanyaKishio SugaSugaki ShioWhen I met the works of "Mono-ha *" such as Mr. *, I had the opportunity to see them many times, and I became aware that I wanted such works. Also, at that time, it was difficult for contemporary art to become a business, so it was common for young artists to rent an art gallery and make presentations when they graduated from art school. It was very interesting to see such a solo exhibition.Regardless of the degree of perfection, the artist's first form comes out, so sometimes there are works that make me feel something. "

It wasn't that there was a writer you were looking for, but you were watching it.

"I don't mean to watch a specific person. I just kept watching it for 80 years in the 10s, thinking that there might be something interesting. There is something that I can understand because I continue to watch it. Will hold a solo exhibition one or two years later. If you look at the same artist a couple of times in a row, you will gradually understand what kind of artist you are. I often let you do it.'

The works that remain in me later are often vague and difficult to grasp when I first see them.

Is it from the 80s that the collection began in earnest?

"It's the 80's. More than 80 percent of my contemporary art collection was collected during the decade of the 80's. I like stripped-down works, or simply minimalist ones, in the 10's. I gradually moved away from contemporary art. "

Please tell us about the selection criteria for the works you will obtain.

"Anyway, it's about whether you like it or not. However, it's hard to like this.RuffianHabit..Many of the works that remain in me later are vague and difficult to grasp when I first see them. "what is this! It is a feeling.Such a work will resonate later. There's something unknown to you that you can't interpret at first. It's a work that has the potential to broaden the framework of my own art.'

By combining antique art and contemporary art, various appearances are born.

When will the gallery open?

"This is the first permanent exhibition of the open corridor from May 2010, 5. We exhibited 12's art and Buddhist art side by side from the collection.'

What made you start the gallery?

"I wanted a space where I could do what I wanted to do, and it was open to the public. The other was that I wanted to get as close as possible to the artist. Most of the artists I met in the 80s asked for a solo exhibition as an original project at the beginning of the opening.'

I think it will lead to the concept, but please tell us the origin of the name of Gallery ancient and modern.

"Old and modern are antique art and contemporary art. By putting old and present things in one space, and combining antique art and contemporary art, various appearances are born. At one time, it is very very. It looks tense, and at one point it looks very matched, which is interesting. I'm interested in the way that there is something in the space *. I want to find out.'

See antique art with the eyes of contemporary art.

What made you interested in antique art?

"As I mentioned earlier, I've lost interest in contemporary art since around 1990. At that time, I happened to go to Korea for the first time in 2000 and came across Li Dynasty woodwork = shelves. It's very simple. On the shelves, it was from the 19th century, but I felt it was a warm and minimal art. After that, I went to Seoul many times in a year because of its stiffness.'

You also have Japanese antiques.

"I went to an antique art store in Aoyama in 2002 and 3. It is a store that handles both Li Dynasty and Japanese antique art. There, I encountered Japanese pottery such as Shigaraki, as well as Yayoi style pottery and Jomon pottery. That's why I became interested in Japanese antique art. My favorite genres of antique art are mainly Buddhist art and old pottery, or pottery going back a little. Yayoi is better than Jomon. I like it.'

Antique art is later than contemporary art, isn't it?

"Roughly speaking, it's contemporary art in my thirties and antique art in my fifties. Before I knew it, antique art and contemporary art lined up around me. I thought.'

The concept of juxtaposing antique art and contemporary art was born naturally.

"that's right.'

Art is water.It's drinking water.

Please tell us about your future plans.

"Although it is an appointment system from July to August, we will hold a special exhibition" Kishio Suga x Heian Buddha ". In December, we plan to collaborate with Haruko Nagata *, a painter with a flower motif, and antique art. doing."

Please let us know if you have any future developments or prospects.

"I don't have anything in particular. I have a strong awareness that art is very private. Gallery I think it's basically a space that I want to do. Also, my life and my main business. I don't want to make it a hindrance to the event. As a result of pursuing it, the schedule for one event is limited to 1 days on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm hoping that I can do something after being told how the development is going. "

I would like to collect and introduce the works of Mr. Kishio Suga that you have.

"That's good. I hope that various people can contribute and create a good catalog. The venue does not have to be this gallery. Not just using my collection, I would like to collect Mr. Suga's works from all over Japan and hold it as a big art exhibition. I hope I can provide my collection as a part of it. "

Last but not least, what is art for Mr. Sato?

"I had never been asked such a question before, so when I wondered what it was, the answer was pretty simple. Art is water. Drinking water. I can't live without it. It's important. "

In 48, "Two Naked Men" (1947), presented at the Saint-Placid Gallery, won the Critics Award.Focusing on young people, the figurative paintings that depict postwar anxiety with sharp lines and suppressed colors are supported. * Kishio Suga: Born in Iwate Prefecture in 1944.A writer who represents the Mono-ha.He placed the material in the space without processing it, and called the scene created there "situation (scenery)" and made it into his work. Since 74, he has been developing an act called "Activation" that rejuvenates the space by replacing the one that has already been installed.

* Mono-ha: The name given to writers from around 1968 to the mid-70s, who were characterized by their immediate and immediate use with little human involvement in natural or artificial objects. There are relatively large differences in thoughts and themes depending on each artist.Highly evaluated from overseas. The main writers are Nobuo Sekine, Kishio Suga, Lee Ufan and others.

* Placement: Place things in their respective positions.

* Haruko Nagata: Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1960.Her motif is flowers. "When I draw with the feeling of breathing with flowers, I come to express incense, sound, temperature, color, signs, etc. while accepting them with my five senses, and I tend to be naturally agnostic to concrete shapes. It may be a work. "(Writer's talk)
