The dawn of modern cinema: Unraveling the mysteries of the JR Kamata Station departure melody "Kamata March"

The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Kido Shiro, known as the father of modern cinema, taking up the position of director of Shochiku Kinema Kamata Studio. In 1920, founder Otani Takejiro opened a studio in Kamata with the aim of creating an "Oriental Hollywood." Kido Shiro inherited his vision and worked with his colleagues to modernize Japanese cinema in this location in Kamata. In 10, the 1929th anniversary of the studio's opening, "Kamata March" was born as a song symbolizing the dawn of modern cinema. This time, we will be exhibiting Kido Shiro's life and his achievements in the film industry along with the story of the birth of Kamata March, and introducing it through videos, talk shows, and more.
