Special Exhibition Katsushika Hokusai "Thirty-six Views of Tomitake" x Ryuko Kawabata's Venue Art

 Kawabata Ryuko (1885-1960), a Japanese-style painter, is known for his style of pursuing new Japanese paintings and drawing them on a large screen with a dynamic brush stroke.On the other hand, after the war, Ryuko also worked on classical subjects and collected Katsushika Hokusai's "Thirty-six Views of Tomitake".In this exhibition, "Angry Fuji" (1944) and "Hataku" (1960), Ryuko challenged to express the composition of "Yamashita Shiraame" in "Thirty-six Views of Tomitake" on a large screen. Thing.In this exhibition, Ryuko's favorite "Thirty-six Views of Tomitake" will be exhibited at once, as well as a group of works by Ryuko depicting Mt. Fuji.
 In addition, a special exhibition of Tawaraya Sotatsu's "Sakura Fusuma", which was formerly owned by Ryuko, was exhibited along with works such as Ryuko's masterpieces "Kusa no Mi" (1931) and "Ryukogaki" (1961). Introducing classic masterpieces that have continued to fascinate and their innovations.

* The Ota Ward Ryuko Memorial Hall will be closed from August 3th to September 8rd, 16rd year of Reiwa due to exhibition replacement work.
