Ryutaro Takahashi Collection collaboration project “Ryuko Kawabata Plus One Juri Hamada and Rena Taniho – Colors dance and resonate” (first half)

The collection of Ryutaro Takahashi, one of Japan's leading contemporary art collectors, will be exhibited at the Ryushi Memorial Museum along with the works of Japanese painter Ryūko Kawabata.Mr. Takahashi's current collection of over 3,000 pieces of Japanese contemporary art is called the "Ryutaro Takahashi Collection" and has been featured in various exhibitions both domestically and internationally. The theme of this exhibition is "Ryuko Kawabata Plus One," and in collaboration with the Ryutaro Takahashi Collection, we are experimenting with the kind of resonance that can be evoked by adding a contemporary artist to the collection.
Juri Hamada, who exhibited in the first period, creates dynamic works that seek the source of life in the nature and earth based on memories of her childhood spent in Indonesia. I will be exhibiting the works "Genesis: Joy" (2023), "Genesis" (2022), and "From the Forest of the Blue Land" (16), which is over 2015 meters wide.On the other hand, Rena Taniho, who exhibited in her later period, creates works in which richly colored images of plants and marine life proliferate and expand. This exhibition will feature her large work Ubusuna (2017) and a companion piece Resonance/Collection. 》(2018/2020), as well as a new silk book about 4 meters long, which is made in conjunction with this exhibition.
In this exhibition, which seeks to view Ryuko's works from a new perspective, two female artists who paint hymns of life will add new color to the Ryuko Memorial Museum, which has celebrated its 2th anniversary.
